For this part of the project, you will be looking for information through the lens of 'The Stages of Genocide'.

2) Use the Google Doc's Text feature for documents in Google Docs - you will need to make a copy so you can access the highlighting text feature

COLOR-CODING USING THE HIGHLIGHTER EXTENSION

Classification - Separating people into different groups. 

Dehumanization - Treating the group unfairly and taking away their rights (discrimination).

Polarization - Driving the two groups even further apart by making one be seen as the enemy.

Organization and Preparation -  Planning and preparing for the genocide. 

Extermination -  Killing begins, and quickly becomes the mass killing legally called “genocide.”

Media - The media is used to spread propaganda, bias, or other information to the public to ensure complicity in genocide.

International Response *Extra* - In times of genocide, the international community can intervene, condemn, or stop the genocide. However, they do not always choose to do so.
